How to adjust different layouts to different document templates from the same document type

Introduction

In some cases we have a need to use different layouts on different document templates from the same document type.
For example on a Jewelry Invoice you would like to see columns that you wouldn't want to see on a Diamonds Invoice.
Here are the steps to create 2 different layout templates and use them on the different document templates:


Steps

Step 1: Creating layout templates

  1. Open a new document from the type you would like to create different layouts to use on its different document templates
  2. Customize the columns for the first template


  3. Save the current columns layout
    1. Right click on the column name line
    2. Choose save
    3. Type in the name of the template in the field below and press the Save button

       
  4. Close all the windows except the main software window 

Step 2: Adjusting the layout templates to the document templates

  1. Open the Document Generator: Documents menu > Document Generator
  2. Find the wanted document template and open it (double click on it)
  3. Choose the layout template in the List Template field
  4. Click on the OK button on both windows.
